bit of a storm

July 2nd, 2006
Went Kayaking off Llandudno beach today (Sunday) There was a group of canoeing types from various clubs taking complete novices out for 30 minutes of fun on the sea. and fun it was. Weather was nice. Met up with Gemma (CLHB info bod) and her husband. Tootled about a bit and got my arse wet. I was in a Kayak slightly too small for my high mass (yes folks I distort space-time) so every time I did some turning I got my 'love handles' soggy. After 3/4 of the time spent out it started thundering over to the South East. It was beautiful. It would have been fantastic to have been out on the sea with that storm raging around (or so I like to imagine). Unfortunately we had to go back in so once I'd picked up a dozen leaflets and vowed to rush out and immediately join a canoeing club I rushed home to check on the cats who I'd left out. On the way I took the low road through Rhos on Sea and saw a couple of raised grids from the (still torrential) rain. It was quite groovy. man hole cover I have a sneaky feeling that it was a storm that occurred over Colwyn Bay and I missed out coz I was in Llandudno. Anyway I managed to get a picture of a lifted grid (one of a few) and there were a couple of other grids spraying water up in a mist due to air pressure. The aroma coming from the spray was decidedly human waste-y. When I got home both dependents looked decidedly 'drowned rat'.
